NAPE is a Non-Government Organization (NGO) formed in 1997 to lobby and advocate for sustainable use and management of natural resources in Uganda. Since then, NAPE has been actively involved in a variety of environmental lobby activities such as lobbying government to rethink and reconsider its approach towards large infrastructure development and focus on alternatives that are not costly in social and environmental terms. As a unique methodology, NAPE has operates the Sustainability School approach which facilitates communities’ capacity to effectively participate in social economic and political change processes. The sustainability school focuses on key thematic areas such as land use and food security, forests and large plantations, large dams and energy oil governance and climate change among others and; works through the establishment of sustainability villages which are issue based localities. The Sustainability School is currently operational in the Districts of Kampala, Buikwe, Kalangala, Kiryandongo, Buliisa, Hoima, Kamwenge, Mbarara and Kasese.
Community Green Radio (CGR) was established in March 2014 as an initiative of the National Association for Professional Environmentalists (NAPE). CGR operates in Hoima, Western Uganda and aims to create a platform where local communities, cultural leaders, CSOs, government, private sector and other social actors can debate and share information on the environment and natural resources management. CGR works with over 10 community listeners clubs, formed out of established sustainability school villages which participate in the activities of the community radio through sharing information onevents within their localities. Currently, CGR covers the Districts of Hoima, Buliisa, Masindi, Kibaale, Kiryandongo, Kyankwanzi, Kiboga and Ntoroko.

SEATINI Uganda was established in 2001 and has become one of the leading NGOs working on issues of trade and development. For the fifteen years, SEATINI Uganda has focused on strengthening the capacity of various stakeholders particularly the government officials, civil society, media, farmers groups, trade unions, and members of Parliament to participate and effectively influence trade negotiations and other trade related processes at national, regional and international levels for sustainable development and improved livelihoods in Uganda and the East African region. SEATINI Uganda is part of SEATINI, a sub-regional NGO, working in Eastern and Southern Africa with its headquarters in Harare (Zimbabwe). SEATINI-Uganda currently engages on issues of international and regional trade policy, regional integrationand tax justice, food sovereignty among others.

Food Rights Alliance (FRA) is a coalition constituted in 1999 to bring together Civil Social Organisations working in the field of sustainable agriculture and food security in Uganda. The Food Rights Alliance envisions a world free from hunger and malnutrition and aims to promote the realization of the right to food in Uganda through advocacy, knowledge management and capacity development.Over the years, FRA has grown from the three institutions to more than 60 national, international and local organizations. Since 2013, FRA also coordinates the activities of the Alliance Against hunger and Malnutrition of the Food and Agriculture Organisation (FAO) in Uganda and in the East African Region. FRA is presently active on issues of food sovereignty, budget advocacy and anti-land grabbing campaigns.
